Brass Tree Sessions

Back in July, amidst the UMS, we recorded a few songs for Brass Tree Sessions and they are ready for your viewing pleasure! Thanks again to all the nice and talented people who invited us to rock/sweat it out for them. Seriously, that was one hot afternoon. Enjoy.

Hello again.

Woah. Sorry about that temporary internet absence. Please take no offense, we’ve been busy! We have been writing lots of new songs, getting our new bass player Adam up to speed and prepping for our amazing New Year’s Eve show at the Bluebird Theater with The Black Angels! This is going to be one sweet way to ring in 2013…be there!

Another exciting venture has been The Aviation Cocktail. This film by Colorado filmmaker David Higgins features all original music by SRRS’s own Wilson Helmericks, with help from Hayley Helmericks and Doug Spencer. Listen to the soundtrack here on BandCamp. Watch the trailer below. Go see it this week at the Starz Denver Film Festival! This has been a labor of love for all involved and we are proud to see The Aviation Cocktail make its way around the film festival circuit.

Wymond Miles and a couple of Snakes

Tonight at 6:00 our buddy Wymond Miles, a former Denver kid now living in San Francisco and playing with The Fresh & Onlys, will be giving an in-store performance at Twist and Shout to promote his solo album on Sacred Bones Records, Under The Pale Moon. SRRS’s own Andrew Warner and James Yardley will be joining him on the road as they head to the East coast this month. Travel safe boys!

IMTour!!

We are so happy to announce that we were one on the lucky bands chosen to receive the inaugural Independent Music on Tour (IMTour) Program grant! With the help of Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), a Denver-based non-profit regional art preservation group, we will be able to hit the road and represent Colorado rock n’ roll! Thanks again to everyone who made this possible, we could not be more excited. This is truly a shot in the arm for us! And congratulations to the other winners! Check them out here.

In other news, we are playing June 8th at the Marquis Theater with our buddies The Epilogues! Its an all ages show so get there early!

Audiovore: Soundcheck

In their own words, “Audiovore is an online platform dedicated to the documentation and promotion of Colorado’s music and arts scene through the production of high quality audio and video content.”

Well put. So a few months back we jumped on board with Audiovore and they recorded/filmed a couple of songs from our soundcheck at the Hi-Dive. New songs to boot! Enjoy.
